cell phone went swimming

Apr 26, 2004 8:13AM PDT

Is there any hope for a cell phone that was dropped into water? It was fished out within 30 sec or so but is not opperating properly now. It is my work lifeline so should I just go out and get another or wait a couple of days for recovery?

Sorry no hope, you will need a new one, check with your provider what kind of offer they can give you, if expensive and no insurance check ebay, then you can transfer your number to that phone.

what you can do is add insurance and not tell them about the broken phone then after 5 or 10 days say you dropped it in water and get anew one for only about 235 bucks as a deductible, i did it and got a new phone in 2 buisness days!!

Good luck

Jumped in the lake with mine over summer. Set it on the dashboard in full sun for two days, rebooted fine. Key is not to turn the thing on until completely dry, or it will fry. Try putting under heat lamp (not close enough to melt case, duh). Be patient before restarting.
