While http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6121-0.html?forumID=45&threadID=38872&messageID=455908 lists much for you to digest, remember that these drives tend to fail and cause the owner to try for months to fix it. I can't spend that much time so I swap the drive out if no indication is given to suspect a software error. The units have never been cheaper and the service fees never higher.
MY PC IS FUJITSU WITH WIN XP PRO. HDD IS AMD K6.
HOW CAN I SOLVE THIS ERROR MESSAGES;
1) REQUEST COULD NOT BE PERFORMED BECAUSE OF AN I/O DEVICE ERROR. IT HAPPENS WHEN WRITING CDs OR PLAYING DVD/VCD.
2) MY CDRW DRIVE DOES NOT RECOGNISE CD-R. IT WILL SAY THAT THERE IS NO DISC IN THE DRIVE. IT ALSO HAPPENS WHEN TRYING TO WRITE A DISC.
3) IN USING WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 10, TO PLAY A DVD, IT WILL REPORT THAT IT DOES NOT PLAY DVD AND THAT I SHOULD LOWER MY RESOLUTION.
I AM IN USE OF TWO SEPERATE CD-ROM DRIVES -- CDRW & DVD. I HAD BEEN USING THESE DRIVES WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM.
