Error is Application Hang. New mother board,Elite Group 741GX-M, new HDD 40 GB Maxtor 7200 RPM drive LG DVD Rom Drive. Windows XP Pro with SP2 and updates. Thanks in advance for any expert advice with this problem. I scanned the system for disk errors, spyware and defragged the drive. No problems reported. You need to clean your disc or your disc has scratches that your cdrom can't read.

..that movie DVD is defective, at least to your DVD drive. Try at another computer - same problem ? Try another DVD - same problem ? Does the DVD play on a home DVD player ? Some DVD drives are more sensitive that another. You can also try cleaning the DVD disc and the lens of the drive.

Thank you for your replies, I discovered that it was a defective DVD. Cleaning didn't help (it was a rented DVD). Many marks and scratches on it. I tried other movies, they worked fine. Greetings from Manitoba, Canada.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
