CDMA/GSM In one cell phone?

Aug 23, 2005 9:30PM PDT

I wondered if there was a cell phone made that can use both GSM and CDMA technologies. I use verizon which as you know is CDMA and am planing a trip to Paris and i think that they all use GSM over there. Is there a phone that can operate off both? Thanks.

Yes, Verizon does sell such a model. Don't know which model and/or price. Check with your local store.

The model Verizon Wireless has is the Samsung a790. It operates all digital: CDMA 800/1900 & GSM 900/1800. So don't expect it to work on GSM in the United States and Canada. It looks like a nice phone, but I don't travel much, and have yet to travel to Europe, so I personlly don't need this phone.
