Load a CDR disk into the CD/RW drive. Drag and drop the file that you want to save to the CD/RW drive letter in My Computer icon.
It has been awhile since I have used this method since I now use flash cards because they are so much easier and faster. But, you may have to format the CDR disk before using it. Check will vendor about formatting disk. If vendor says that CDR disks do not need formatting, then use above process.
My girlfriend wants to copy a file to a cd write disk, and asked me to figure out how. The first thing I thought to do was to use the 'find' feature to locate it. I right clicked the file in question [Brian], clicked 'send to', then 'DirectCD Drive(M)'. But I get an error message which reads:
Cannot create or replace 'Brian' - Access is denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use.
Looking at the package CD package she bought, I read "Memorex CD-R" ... Recordable compact discs for computer CD writers...700 MB and etc.
The file is not 'in use'. I dont know how to tell if the disc is write protected.
The OS is Win-ME.
