I had a similar problem with Roxio, the way i fixed the problem was by getting rid of roxio, and i never had a problem again. Hate to say it, but it worked.
I have a combo HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC4320B drive as master and Samsung CD-ROM SC152G as slave installed in an Intel Board D845GEBV2 with P4 2.4 GHZ and 512 MB Ram and WXP SP1 OS. My computer used to recognize and burn CD-RW discs, but lately it just won't recognize and write CD-RW. The drive can still read diff formats of discs except CD-RW and can still burn CDRs. As far as I know, my system is clean of spywares and viruses as I scan it regularly. I have Spybot, Ad-Aware, WinPatrol, Sygate personal firewall and AVG antivirus installed. I can not keep track when the problem happened as I was religiously downloading updates from MS and just learned about it when I was trying to burn a CD-RW. I also have an Adaptec UDF reader installed and using Roxio CD Creator 5 as my CD burner and copier. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling driver and Roxio software to no avail. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
