cd-rom issue prevents me from installing multi-disc software

Hi. I have a problem with Windows XP failing to recognize new CDs placed in the cd-rom drive. On a fresh boot, I can put a CD in my drive and it recognizes it fine, but when I take that disc out and put a different disc in the same drive, it keeps showing the name and contents of the old disc. I have to reboot to be able to access a different CD.I'm trying to install a game, and I can't because of this. My computer has been fine up until tonight. I have two drives, and they both do the same thing. Anyone have any ideas?

The drives are:

Plextor DVDR PX-708A
Samsung CDRW/DVD SM-352B

Try a right click in My Computer and click Refresh. Other option is to create with a right click a new folder, name it Game part 2 and put the 2nd CD in there. Load the first and go to 2nd on desktop and install that one. Will That work?? Darrell L.

Refresh doesn't do anything. Copying the CD into a folder won't work because when the installation program asks for the next disc, it won't let me specify where to look for it. It will only read from the cd-rom drive, plus I'm sure it has copy protection that would prevent me from doing that even if I could.

The game (World of Warcraft) has four CDs. I can get two installed by putting one in each of my drives, but then neither of the two drives will accept any other discs afterwards.

I meant to add I guess you can turn your PC off between each of the steps in the installation workaround if you need to as each step is a single action in its own right. I think I'd stop autoplay or just hold down the shift key each time you insert the cd as you only want to open the cd in my computer and follow the instructions, hope it is the right game I'm talking about.
