Cd Rom drives gone

by Anuraagii / January 22, 2005 8:22 AM PST

I have and HP8674F. Have two cd drives, M & N. They are gone from my computer. The Device Manager has a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it. When I troubleshoot I get error code 39. Any ideas?
I'm not an advanced user, so I'd appreciate simple instructions and not a lot of acronyms, but rather the words spelled out. Thanks for your patience.

Two ways to approach this:

1) Reset the video resolutions and display properties to where they were before the change
2) Try using System Restore if XP is being used

Michael,
Do you have any idea what made the drives disappear in the first place?

Thank you for the desktop appearance help.

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
