Question

CD/DVD ROM Drive Configuration Problem Samsung Laptop

Hi,
Can someone please help - I have a Samsung Laptop NP300E5A-SO1UK fitted with a TSST Corp CDDVDW SN-208BB CD/DVD ROM Drive.

The drive is not registering as E Drive when media is
inserted and on opening Device Manager for the drive
I get the following message :-
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

How da fix it ( can't repair using windows CD at mo
- have no external optical drive available )

Thanks In Anticipation,
Michael

Answer
External drive

Likely the best way to go about this is to use an external, USB input , drive. Did the drive function normally and this is something that just happened? It'd be nice to know a bit more about the system, OS, etc. to see if this may have been created by something other than hardware.
