CD burning problems

Nov 22, 2006 2:49AM PST

I created a list of 30 MP3 format songs (64 min.) and burned a CD using Del Jukebox by Musicmatch Jukebox Plus. I Have a Dell Dimension 4700 with an internal CD R/W drive. The first attempt was on a Staples CD-R. Starting with the 5th song the playback started to sound scratchy. Thinking it might be the CD, I burned the same list on a HP CD-R disk. This time the playback was fine untill the 27th song and then the scratchy sounds were introduced for the balance of the recordings. The songs sound just fine when I play then on the computer. Both CDs look fine and don't have any scratches on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I take it you were trying this on some CD Player? If so, one more try. Try the recording at 2X speed. Then try another make media. HP is fair and not too pricey.

But the issue is WELL KNOWN. Not all audio CD players like recorded media. Fix? Replace the player.

Were you playing these back using your computer? If so, try a CD player that can handle CD-Rs. The computer normally plays the music when its stored on the hard drive. It may eventually slow down when trying to stream the data off a CD. This is especially true if the computer is a bit slow, and/or occupied with other tasks.
