I doubt that the burner is going to give two hoots about the system processor (amd/intel).

There are three steps to this.

1 Reach around and get a firm grip on your wallet.

2 If you have the time do some shopping.
I have seen these things for $9.95 with burner software.

3. Maintain that firm grip on your wallet.

For the most part, if your system can handle xp, you should be able to use an Internal Burner (RECOMENDED). As long as you have an empty bay slot and power connections. I also recomend as much ram as your system can handle! Right click on My Computer, go to properties, Device Manager, and get a print out of your system files. This is a good thing to keep on the shelf with your other paperwork about your computer and you will find it helpful later! Take the printed copy to the store and ask a tec if your system will handle a DVD burner instead! DVD Burners require more than CD Burners! (power supply, ram, hard drive space)

Yeah though you should check the speed of your CPU to make sure it is fast enough so you can burn CDs without errors, 500MHz would be fine though to be on the safe side 1GHz would be better. Also check the amount of RAM in the system you will need atleast 256MB on a Windows XP system to be safe, however, 512MB would be best.
