cd+bug spray=bad?

Sep 7, 2005 5:05AM PDT

i have a music cd (specifically daydream nation by the sonic youth) that, while at a campout at my friend's house, came into contact with some bug spray from an aerosol can (i believe it was off, in a green can). it doesn't work anymore. my computer won't read it. my cd player won't read it. there are a lot of little dots on the surface. i think they are from the bug spray. so, i was wondering if anyone else has ever had a cd come into contact with bug spray and it stopped working? thanks

but i would recommend washing the CD in tepid soapy water to get rid of the gunk....

if it works, make a copy and throw away the 'contaminated' cd...
