CCleaner download was Malwarebytes?

by ciaobella / February 25, 2012 8:37 PM PST

Hi, got a generated note that there was a new version of CCleaner 3.16.1666 to download. When I clicked on the link to the CNet download it came up as Malwarebytes, which I happen to have, but wanted to let you know about this. First time I ever saw this happen.

I don't normally visit this forum but I saw your post.

Can you just clarify, when you clicked the CNET Tracker link to update CCleaner, you were in fact offered Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware as a download instead?

It might help the CNET Tracker team to hunt down any errors.

Hi ciaobella,

We do apologize for the error here, and thank you for bringing it to our attention! It looks like the bad link was in a Download Watch List email (sent from "CNET Download Alert") - is that correct? The download links for CCleaner on the site seem to be fine, and we will make sure future alert emails contain the proper link as well.
