Also, I've seen folk not connect the shield and have yet to see a problem.
Hi,
I have recently renovated my basement and the contractors wired each room with CAT6 STP cables. There are 5 cables in total. It is too late to change the cable to UTP as the basement ceiling is done.
I understand that shielded network cable should be grounded on one end, but I do not have the expertise or equipment/gears for grounding. Can I simply not grounding the network cable and use unshielded keystone? I can live with compromised connection but I just want to make sure it is safe to not ground a shielded network cable.
Thanks in advance!
