CAT 5 enthernet cable cut, oh no!

Sep 11, 2004 5:38AM PDT

There is a cable that runs through the house and it got cut or whatever happened to it...thing is there is no way I can replace it...is there a way to replace the little connector at the end?!?...then use a fresh cable to extend it some how? like connect the old cable to something then the new cable to the other side hence extending it?

A simple set of proper splicing devices and a crimper. I have one that I keep for such work and it was from Radio Shack. Just a tip. Unplug both ends while working on it and do not untwist the wires too much, then match up the colors.

Thanks again R. Proffitt, I own you a lot now =P

I'll have to run to a radio shack...hopefully my not handy skills can do it. I think I'll search for a online guide maybe..

Thanks again =)

Home Depot carries everything you need, and at a lower price than Radio Shack. Look in the electrical section.
