Take any old walkman and connect it to your sound card with a jack. Press play on the walkman and record on some recording software - what ever came with the card or Audacity (free and excellent). After recording to WAV save it to low bitrate mp3 or ogg. I did this with great success but now my 20+ yo walkman is dead. It was fun but the sound quality is hillarious.
How can I get a tape into a format that I can send to an MP3 player? I don't own a tape deck on my stereo. I am only interested in getting spoken word lectures transferred so the sound quality is not that important.
