When I convert LPs to CD my preamp seems to take care of the equalization pretty well. So there?s the normal pops and crackle that I deal with but the highs are bright and resiliant. But when I go from cassette to CD it?s another thing altogether since I run straight from my deck (a Sansui three head D-550M) to my sound card. I notice that the high end is very soft and I equalize like this to make it brighter.
2K +5db, 5k +5db,10k +5.5db.
This works for me most of the time but does anyone have any experience as to what the equalization should be?
