Casio?

Jan 5, 2005 9:21AM PST

I was thinking about buying a casio ex-z50 or z55. I was wondering if they had good outdoor picture quality?

If you know a good ultra compact digital camera please tell me!

PC Magazine recently did a comparison test of that size camera.

The Casio Z55 was given a rating of 3.5 out of 5
The Canon SD300 was given a rating of 4 out of 5
The Canon SD200 was given a rating of 3.5 out of 5

Any of those should be a good choice.

Casio Z55

After MUCH research,I purchased th Z55 as it had so much to offer. However, the bottom line is that it was not sharp. I tried five cameras in all that met my criteria (quality, 5MP, small), and chose the Pentax Optio S5i, which I would recommend to you.

Pentax Optio S5i instead of Casio Z50

I am thinking of buying the Pentax Optio S5i instead of Casio Z50, mostly because I'm hearing so much about poor picture quality in the Z50. Please expand on your experience with both, and anyone else who has thoughts on this matter (the other camera I'm looking at is the Minolta X50).

Some sharper ones

Indeed, the pictures taken by Casio cameras are kinda noisy/grainy.

Check out the Canon SD200/300, the Sony P100/P120/P150, the Minolta X50, and the Sony FX7. They all take good pictures, and are very tiny.
