sorry i forgot to post wat i would be puttin in my new system.
AMD athlon 64 3000+
120 gig wd caviar
512 mb corsair value select
geforce 2 fx 5200
lite on dvdrw drive
floppy drive

i asked what i should get in terms of case and ps. i heard that buying a seperate ps would be good but i dont think i have the money. I found alot of generic cases on newegg in my pricerange (70 bucks) with ps that were like 400w but ifound an antecwith 350w. I dont know whether to buy the antec or get a generic or buy them seperate. If i buy them seperate what would make a good stable match from newegg

Do not cheap on P/S or fans, as when they fail, they usually take something with them. Go with the best you can afford. From experience, AMD's are especially sensitive to heat and a dead cpu cooling fan may equate to a dead cpu.
