Card: North Korea Got Nukes on Clinton's Watch

White House chief of staff Andrew Card fired back at New York Sen. Hillary Clinton on Sunday, pointing out that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il obtained his first nuclear weapon while her husband was president.

After citing Mrs. Clinton's claim Friday that Pyongyang developed a nuclear intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching the U.S. during the Bush administration, NBC's "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert asked Card:

To one of the figures from his own party JFK

There are risks and costs to a program of action, but they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction. (JFK)

because Korea did not have any WEAPONS GRADE plutonium prior to Clinton's accomodations having signed the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Even your own link makes that clear.

They did have a "nuclear program" aimed at and intended for aquiring "Nukes" but they did not have them prior to Clinton's accomodations.

Any blame can indeed be shared among several administrations but of all of the administrations Clinton's was the most accomodating and shared the most US technology with them both for "nukes" themselves and missiles in particular.

Response
May 2, 2005 11:47PM PDT

How long does a politician (Clinton) have to be out of power, before the individual in power (Bush) starts taking responsibility for what is going on?

Or is Bush taking responsibility and YOU are the one that keeps blaming past politicians?

Do you expect the USA to control everything that goes on in the entire world?

You're missing the logic
May 3, 2005 4:38AM PDT

North Korea was able to develop nuclear weapons because Bill Clinton cheated on his wife.

It's really very easy to follow.

Something for everyone to consider come '08 and who we choose to replace him in that office. Do the Democrats even have someone remotely deterrant in that department?
