Caravan IS an invasion...just ask Mexicans

There are other stories available, but evidently it's one thing to 'help' the caravan as it's PASSING thru, but a totally NEW thing when thousands are literally parked in one place for what could easily be months. What's that saying again? Oh, yeah....ANYWHERE BUT IN MY BACKYARD. Welcome to liberalism at its finest.

Is this a bug ?
How does "True" in SE become "1 " in the real time forum ?

false

The same way a subject of "false" becomes a zero, due to some coding fault they've never corrected, although it's been reported a few times.

RE:and Happy Thanksgiving..
Nov 19, 2018 6:49PM PST

Thank you for the belated Thanksgiving wishes.

Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving Day is an annual Canadian holiday, occurring on the second Monday in October,

you can be like the Pilgrims and Indians and share your feast with them.

And then they take the land from "Canadians" like the pilgrims did from the Indians?

That's why you don't want Mexicans there...you know how it works?...They get their foot in the door next thing you know they are running the country? And YOU are living on a reservation?

Do you think Indians of any sort

didn't live in 'Canada' before CANADIANS took the land from THEM? Give it up, JP.....is that why YOU don't want them in Canada either?

I'm not going to drag them kicking and screaming into the country....

YOU let them into America, and IF/WHEN THEY decide THEY don't like it there and decide to head North to Canada...Come on up....

You can advise them there is not much use for a sombrero in Canada. (5 months of WINTER, and 3 months of tough sledding, and 4 months of decent weather).

If there gets to be too many Mexicans down there perhaps YOU could sneak into Canada.

PS...Enjoy YOUR Thanksgiving I hope everyone has lots of buns, for the bunfights and everyone checks their guns at the door.

Buns NOT guns.....

It's from them I got the label First Nations. That's not only what you would expect from militants, but is also historically correct.

That's when it occurs,,on 2nd Monday in October, makes for a long weekend rather that a holiday in the middle of the week.

Or are you asking about

Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving Day

I just cut and paste what was in the link I clicked. everyone doesn't use Day when referring to Thanksgiving...

Thanksgiving day is a given when referring to Thanksgiving.

See what I did there?

Why the day in the first place? I didn't know you had one. It can't be connected to the US one.

Thanksgiving Day in Canada

Thanksgiving Day in Canada has been a holiday on the second Monday of October since 1957. It is a chance for people to give thanks for a good harvest and other fortunes in the past year.

Many thanksgivings were held following noteworthy events during the 18th century. Refugees fleeing the civil war in the United States brought the custom of an annual thanksgiving festival to Canada. From 1879, Thanksgiving Day was held every year but the date varied and there was a special theme each year. The theme was the "Blessings of an abundant harvest" for many years. However, Queen Victoria's golden and diamond jubilees and King Edward VII's coronation formed the theme in later years.

From the end of the First World War until 1930, both Armistice Day and Thanksgiving Day were celebrated on the Monday closest to November 11, the anniversary of the official end of hostilities in World War I. In 1931, Armistice Day was renamed Remembrance Day and Thanksgiving Day was moved to a Monday in October. Since 1957, Thanksgiving Day has always been held on the second Monday in October.

Thank you.

Lots of cultures have similar harvestime festivals. Our agriculture genes kicking in.
It's also the excuse for churches that don't want to get away from Hallowe'en cold turkey. Grin

A "controlled" invasion?

U.S. border inspectors are processing only about 100 asylum claims a day at Tijuana’s main crossing to San Diego. Asylum seekers register their names in a tattered notebook managed by migrants themselves that had more than 3,000 names even before the caravan arrived.

Looks pretty UNCONTROLLED in Mexico
Nov 20, 2018 2:22AM PST

Are you trying to say that thousands in Tijuana are ALL seeking 'asylum' legitimately so they should be processed all at once in order to suit YOU? What do you care about them? They aren't coming to YOUR backyard any time soon so why are you so concerned with how rapidly WE let them in OURS? If they have to wait long enough, maybe they'll go back home or finally accept MEXICO'S offer of asylum and jobs.

This will get things under control....

Judge blocks Trump administration from denying asylum claims to immigrants who cross border illegally

In an order laced with language accusing President Donald Trump of attempting to rewrite immigration laws, a federal judge based in San Francisco temporarily blocked the government late Monday night from denying asylum to those crossing over the southern border between ports of entry.

Judge Jon S. Tigar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said that a policy announced November 9 barring asylum for immigrants who enter outside a legal check point '"irreconcilably conflicts" with immigration law and the "expressed intent of Congress."

"Whatever the scope of the President's authority, he may not rewrite the immigration laws to impose a condition that Congress has expressly forbidden," Tigar wrote, adding that asylum seekers would be put at "increased risk of violence and other harms at the border" if the administration's rule is allowed to go into effect.
