Honda CRVs had that problem

In reply to: car heater problem

but in reverse. The passenger side would blow warm air but the driver's side blew cold. If your Nissan has adjustments for both driver and passenger, you might have the same problem. In the Hondas, it was a plugged heater core. I experienced this in my own vehicle. There was a technical bulletin released about this issue. The heaters needed to be flushed with CLR for a couple of hours. It worked but there's no guarantee that it won't come back. I suspect this is some kind of materials incompatibility issue between the factory anti-freeze and metals through which it passes in the vehicle.

Along with Steven's note.

Always call Nissan headquarters in your country to see if there is a service bulletin about it. Using the wrong coolant can cause all sorts of problems. Along with folk that don't flush the system on schedule.

Blend door?

In reply to: car heater problem

Not sure if this vehicle uses blend doors for right vs. left, but, if so, could be a faulty blend door actuator?
Your 'mechanic' quoted $800.00....what was his diagnosis?
