capturing HD video with a 3 yr old HP Media Center PC m7330n

It has 250GB hard drive (7200 rpm)and 1 GB memory (4 GB max allowed) and Athlon 64 X2 (T) 4200+ 2.2 GHz processor. Windows XP .It has memory card reader (MMC/SD) and Memory Stick/Pro. Plus SmartMedia/xD and CompactFlash I/II. It has a 16X DVD(+/-)R/RW RAM (+/-)R DL LightScribe drive. It does have a firewire port. It has a personal media drive bay. It uses Sonic MyDVD Plus 6.2 to capture video. It uses muvee autoProducer 4.5. Are these specs good for handling video from the HD camcorders I've listed below? If not what would you recommend for me with this PC? This is my first foray into the digital capturing & archiving world. I'm not tech savvy as you can tell but am willing to learn. What is the most user friendly and futre-proof way to archive with my PC? I am considering Canon HV30/HV40 (if miniDVs are the way to go) and Canon HF 200 (like the zoom)or Sony HDR-CX 12 (like the slow mo) I would prefer flash memory but is my computer up to handling ACVHD? After reading a lot I figured out that taking the video is only half the problem. What about any miniDV camcorders that support recording to flash memory? Using a portable video storage device? I would prefer to view our video (both current and archived) on our TV rather than PC.
