If you have an old VHS recorder, you can capture to tape (use sp) and then return the material to DVD-ram and edit from there. You will lose some quality but at sp speed, you should get decent results. If you have another free standing dvd player, it should recognize the dvd-r disc and you can then return the video footage to your new recorder on a dvd-ram disc without loss of any resolution. Remember, you will lose resolution any time you involve an analog transfer. Digital to digital transfers occur with no resolution losses.
I recently purchased a Panasonic DVD video recorder. Before I knew the ins and outs I recorded some video on a DVD-R disc as opposed to a DVD-RAM disc. Well the recorder and software only allow me to capture DVD-RAM recordings for editing and movie making. Does anyone have any suggestions for capturing the DVD-R recordings for editing and movie making?
Thx!
