capture problems

Feb 5, 2005 3:21AM PST

I can't seem to capture mini-DV from Samsung SCD23 to my 512 MB, 20 GIG HD (7 gigs free, 400mghz.) PC. Video comes out very jerky and audio is gargled. Tried using Windows ME Movie Maker, Ulead, and another on a friends computer....same problem. Camera plays back fine in the LCD viewer.

I have as my rule of thumb the cut-off MHz is a Pentium 3 at 500 MHz. You have less than that so capture may be nothing but problems. Even moreso if you attempt to compress during capture.

Hi,

First of all, in order to capture anything you need more RAM and a large hard drive (I would recommend allocating a separate hard drive for video, that is how I have mine)

Video takes up a lot of memory and hard drive space. Invest in some hardware upgrades and you'll see a remarkable difference. Have a greatday.
