Caption ON Component 1 - PLEASE HELP ME TURN THE CAPTION OFF

Mar 16, 2009 11:09AM PDT

I have a Samsung flat screen and we have the Wii going to the AV2 component; the bluetooth going to the HDMI and the cable going to Component 1. Apparently for some reason, the Component 1 was designed not to be able to turn the caption OFF, so there is words all on the screen. Does anyone know how to fix this? We had the TV professional installed and it was fine until we got the bluetooth for Christmas and we hooked it up. I didn't bother the cable at all, I just hooked the hdmi cable from the bluetooth to the TV, what happened????

amypgroves,

When you say Bluetooth, do you mean Blu-Ray?

If so, you might have the captions on the Blu-Ray settings set to "on". If you take out the disc, and go into the settings menu, you can turn off the captions on the player, which should essentially stop the words altogether.

Keep me posted!

Yes Blue Ray, the Blue Ray doesn't have a captions option. I even unplugged it all together from the TV and the caption is still on.

My question is why can't I turn off the captions on Component 1?? How can I change it?

Thanks for your help.

amypgroves,

Which model of Blu-Ray player do you have? BDP1500? BDP1600?

Let me know, and I'll see what I can find.
