by drdred / February 27, 2005 4:10 AM PST

hi guys im having a problem, well more an annoyance,of whenever i press either caps lock or num lock a message appears on the screen in the bottom right corner just above the taskbar saying CAPS LOCK : ON etc,it is really annoying especially because it interrupts games.I have cheacked on accessability options and nothing on there is enables on the keyboard settings, also i have checked for any programs that are installed that might be causing this but cannot find anything suspicious. I am running xp sp2 have had no problems before this problem appeared, any suggestions more than welcome cheers.

The Filterkeys feature can show such an indication. You may want to turn it off.

Brill Bob.

I have a Belkin wireless keyboard and mouse on a KVM switch and the kb doesn't have a CapsLock, NumLock or ScrollLock LED, and I am forever pressing the CapsLock key without knowing it.

Now I can hear my "oft" mistakes!

Many thanks

Keyboard Driver

Some keyboard drivers do this. Usually you can set the driver software to not display info.

Logitech used to do this on some keyboards as I recall.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
