Try the drive with no partitions as well. Either zero fill, DBAN (see google) it and try again.
Note: edited title.
I have a new 1TB Western Digital drive installed in an eMachine 1331G (64 bit). The disk is un-formatted. I have tried to write Win 7 64 bit to the drive from an official DVD and from a USB drive. I always get this message "invalid partition table". I get the same message when I pull out the DVD and/or USB.
I had expected windows to start and take me through formating and partitioning the drive. What am I missing? by the way, I have previously had successful installs on other machines with the DVD and the USB files.
