Question

Can't tweet pictures via text

Aug 29, 2015 6:03PM PDT

I can post a text-only tweet via SMS, but when I try to post a photo via Messages, it shows that the text sent, but nothing posts to Twitter. I used to be able to do it all the time. Anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

I'm using an iPhone 6, and MMS Messaging is enabled in my settings. I've tried disconnected and reconnecting my mobile number from my twitter account, but that didn't fix it. (Plus, my number is obviously connected since text-only messages will post to twitter.)
Thankful for any help!

Checked Twitter's help already

Thanks for your help. I actually looked through that page you mentioned already. My carrier is Verizon, which is in Twitter's list of carriers that support. I've also already done the STOP/START commands reset. What's strange is that it used to work.

Then it's back to Verizon.

The carrier can break it or it's something like my old Sprint where data would just drop out. Voice and SMS would work but not MMS or the Twitter app.

Did you try the Twitter app or not?

Other MMS does work

What I don't understand is that I can text pictures to anyone else, no problem. So it can't just be an MMS issue. I'm wondering if Twitter is blocking the pictures somehow.

(I can use the app, but I'm trying to help a friend who doesn't want the app on his phone. He has the same phone and carrier as me—and the same problem when trying to text a photo to tweet.)

If MMS didn't work they would be flooded with calls.

Your issue is more fine grained. You want to use the message app rather than the Twitter app. It's up to Verizon to work with you on this. It may be a few weeks until my buddy with Verizon returns from overseas.
