Question

Can't see PC in Homegroup (Network) after sleep mode

Mar 22, 2018 9:06AM PDT

Hello,

I recently bought a Wi-Fi adapter (Asus PCE AC-8Cool and now I have a problem with my homegroup. 2 computers are connected to Homegroup (laptop HP Spectre X360 and desktop with above-mentioned adapter) via Xiaomi Mi Wi-Fi Router 3G.

Everything works fine but when my desktop wakes up after sleep mode both computers can't see each other in homegroup or in Network (only current PC is displaying). However, I can open both computers by typing their names or ip-addresses in the address field of Explorer.

P.S. Everything was great when my desktop was connected via Ethernet so I guess it's problem with Wi-Fi adapter...

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

As you may not know, Homegroup will be removed soon so the problem will be solved by removing this share system.

Thank you for your reply! Anyway, I can't see computers in Network folder/window. So the problem persistsSad

Just so you're aware.

That issue was in older Windows too. To get it to populate you can sometimes tap F5 or open a command window and try NET VIEW

As far as I know, Microsoft never cleaned that area up and left use with workarounds. It can also repopulate as time passes. Not a reliable area for Windows.
