Can't play online without browser open

by DeanRavencroft / January 29, 2016 2:31 PM PST

Can anyone give me a solid answer?
Its in regards to computers.
Ok, my pc is having some weird problem.
I can only play games online, like GTA V, ONLY if my google chrime web browser is open and running facebook.
In fact, nothing else internet wise won't run unless i open Facebook and actively refresh the page. The moment i leave Facebook the internet stops working.
Even when i run Steam and I'm downloading something, as soon as i close FB its stops streaming.
I checked the connection and it has full bars. Checked the status, it says it has pv4 internet access.
I ran a diagnostic on the network and it's saying "DNS error".
I don't see how that could be the problem when there clearly shows its had a connection for over 8hrs and is up and down streaming as i talk.
This is weird, and i don't know enough to figure this out on my own, never learned networking.
Oh and everything is fully updated too.
Anyways, thanks in advance.
