Cant play any multimedia video files on my desktop

Hi guys,

First post here, Recently i encountered this problem where in my computer i cant seem to play any multimedia video files at all, at first i could not even view any folders which would contain a lot of video files and the windows explorer would crash saying som Drpostmortem debugger created an illegal operation.

I ran my antivirus along with my registry mechanic and manage to remove the trojan and fix the folder viewing problem but i still cant seem to play any multimedia video files in either winamp, real player or windows media. I tried everything from reinstalling the softwares but still no luck.

If anyone can give me some advice i would really appreciate it! Thanks!

sorry i posted too fast here is my operating system.

Windows xp home edition
using Sapphire radon 9600 xt graphic card
ram i have about 512 mb
