Question

Can't log in to particular website.

Sep 1, 2015 10:49AM PDT

I am trying to access my schools courses but every time I log in on my home network it immediately reverts to "session expired. Please log in again."

I have tried it on 3 computers connected to my home network with the same response. I can successfully access the site via my phone, tablet and work computer (which have all separate ip addresses.)

I have tried multiple dns flushes, cleared cookies and web browsing history. I have tried disabling the fire wall and have tried to change my ip address.

I was on the phone with their I.T. department for 2 hours yesterday and have been searching multiple forums for answers. I am at a last resort here and desperately need help!!!

Also, I have tried to access the site by connecting my modem directly to my computer. No such luck.

Have you tried different browser(s)?

I switch between Firefox, Chrome, and IE. If one doesn't work, I try one of the others. There are several other browsers to the ones I just listed.
`
Good luck.

Tell a little more.

If the work computer is at home then it's not an ISP issue. If it's at work then you may have an isp issue or the date/time is off on router or PCs.

Be sure you share the DNS in use by router and PCs. Try 8.8.8.8 for all.

No luck

Thank you
I double checked the dates and times on my pcs and router but everything was on point and correct.
I also changed my dns for my local connection and router to 8.8.8.8 but that also did not work.

How would i know if its an isp issue?

You say it works fine on your phone, tablet and doesn't work on your 3 PC's. That's correct?

If that phone and tablet use the same WiFi via the same router, modem and ISP and still work it's not an ISP issue. If the phone and tablet work fine via 3G or 4G and fail to work using that same WifI on which your PC's don't work, it's a modem or ISP issue.

Must not be ISP

The phone and tablet are connected to the same WiFi, router etc. when in use. It works perfect on them. Could it be a strange occurrence where they are using 3g/4g to log in but are still connected to WiFi? It doesn't make sense to me why it wont work. I will contact my ISP and see what they have to say. Thank you so much for your help though.

Here's a thing.

I've seen folk that say install the same "security" in all home PCs then the work PC that has its own .... This story follows. Until more clues are given I wonder if all home PCs got the same ScottyDave Ultrasecurity Web Suite?

Answer
a couple of things to try

are those three computers wire or wireless? If wire, try bypassing your router and plug directly into the modem, if they are separate. also did you try safemode with network? if wireless, try wire.

Your account is still logged in. Things like this happen when you exit out of a web site without logging out. What you do is disconnect the connection but the software is still connected. An administrator should be able to close the connection.
