Can't hard reset Acer Iconia B1?

Apr 5, 2018 4:43PM PDT

So I'm attempting to access the boot menu, which after some searching I can see is done by pressing vol+ and power button at the same time.
I've tried this many times, however it only takes me to a dark screen with "=> FASTBOOT mode..." displayed in the bottom left corner, the only way to get away from this is using a pin to reset the device.

Any advice on how to get into the boot menu or steps to take are appreciated.

The button sequence looks incorrect.

"Step 1 Acer Iconia Tab B1-711 3G - Factory / Hard reset / Password Removal. Power off the tablet. Press and hold the Volume Up and the Power button. After 3 seconds release the Power On button but continue holding the Volume Up button." more on the web.

Thank you, but after trying this I still get the same result, after the 3 seconds rather than getting android icon appearing I'm still faced with that dark screen?

Then the news is grim.

I take it you read other hits so after this I have to write the device has failed. Contact the maker on how to proceed.
