Cant get universal remotes to work with Samsung BD-C6500

by cmoorshead / December 31, 2010 5:23 AM PST

I have a Visio GV52L TV with a universal remote and cannot get it to control the Samsung BD-C6500. I have tried all the codes listed in the manual, the "code search" functionality, and Visio Tech Support chat. But all 3 attempts have failed to get it working. I also have Time Warner Cable with the Universal Electronics Atlas OCAP 5-Device #M1055 and cannot get it working either. Does anybody have any ideas how to get the Samsung BD-C6500 working on these universal remotes?

Same thing here

I just tried to program my Harmony 670 remote for my BD-C6500 and am having the same problem. I've configured the remote with the software, but it just doesn't perform any function. On another forum someone said that Samsung doesn't allow universal remotes to control this Blu Ray player, but someone else said that they were able to do so. So I'm at a loss right now.

I tried several "univeral" remotes with varying degrees of success. Forget GE or ONN (the Walmart flavor of GE). RCA handled the BD-C6500, but not my Sony TV. Phillips actually seems to handle everything I have. The programming is different, but worked well.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
