Instead of download starting get message saying thank for downloading, etc. This has never happened before and so far hasn't happened at other sites. How fix???

If you are, you should know that this site is heavily infested with malware. There're many many reports in this forum of folks who've downloaded from this site and gotten infected with nasty malware that's very difficult to remove. I've personally experienced this problem along with most everyone else.
No, not trying to download from Download.com but CNET. Seems to work on other websites that offer free software but every time CNET is used skips the download and goes to saying thank you. (At least it's a mannerly!) I'm stumped. Using Windows 7. Should a download installer be added to my system or is that taken care of already? Thanks.
But do supply a link so it can be checked out.
Tired a few downloads to see if it works and this time it did. Weird. One thing I did notice is that for these downloads it was on the screen's right side where there are multiple products to choose from. If the big one on the upper left side is used then it jumps to "thank you for downloading...?? I'm stumped.
I see a few requests for links so far but given no links I think a repair counter is best. Show them the issue and ask for help.
