Clarification Request
Your picture disagrees.

Maybe you supplied someone's picture but not yours?

To help the Samsung Ambassador be sure to add details such as:
1. Complete model number.
2. If the firmware is current or the version yours is at. Note: If it's out of date they always have you update it.

The manual there writes.

In reply to: TV specs

"This function is not available on certain models in specific geographical area"

Also I could not find digital tuning in the manual from your link. Yes I do see ISDB-T but it only wrote "ready" in the specs.

Call the maker and seller to have them clear this up now.

is it stand alone or do i have to add external receiver/STB
by khier27 / June 22, 2016 12:35 PM PDT

what does isdb-t ready mean on specs? (very misleading)
cant it receive isdb-t signal on its own without stb?

Specs clear as mud.

In the past, Samsung had written "WiFi ready" and that meant you had to buy their WiFi stick.

Here, it's again unclear. Maker and seller should answer as the specs do not.

I did not catch that in the product manual. Did you find this on your own or did the seller/maker tell you?

...what samsung support told me before:

This is to acknowledge receipt of your email regarding your Samsung LED Television (UA50JS7200R). We understand you are inquiring about the ISDBT function on this unit. We wish to thank you for the attached photo so we can have a clearer idea on your inquiry. We are here to help you on this concern.

Kindly note that the Samsung LED TV UA50JS7200R is not a stand-alone unit when it comes to acquiring digital signals. The television is ISDBT ready but it still requires the use of Digital Box to gain access to digital broadcast channels. This is due to the broadcast signal here in the Philippines being limited to NTSC (Analog).

Samsung needs to fix that manual.

Clear as mud when I read it. I remember reading it cover to cover. Thanks for asking and replying. I learned something here.
