Question

Can't activate a new Office 2016 suite

I buy computer equipment for a small private school, and last spring I bought a dozen laptops equipped with MS Office 2016. Now I am trying to activate them, and they insist on me providing a Microsoft e-mail account (which I have), but when I tell it the account password it tells me that the password is wrong.
The password is not wrong. So what is going on, and how do I proceed with activation?

You can logon with that password into that e-mail account using the webmail in www.outlook.com ?
And in https://account.microsoft.com/account ? Then it isn't wrong indeed. Then contact Microsoft.

Correct

In reply to: Re: password

I can log into the e-mail account normally, using Outlook.

How?

In reply to: Re: password

I'm not seeing any cues for how to contact Microsoft. Only prompts for re-setting my password, which I have no desire to do.

Thank you

I'll try it and let you know what happens.

Done

In reply to: Re: contact Microsoft

Well, my 2016 suite didn't show a choice for telephone activation, and I don't want to beat this to death, so I just used the option to create a new, never-to-be-accessed-or-thought-of-again Microsoft e-mail account. Didn't want to do that, but it worked, and that's all I care about.

Thanks for your help.

Ended up getting professional help. It was complicated; I never would have figured it out on my own, but we're good now.
