Cant access the internet from one user

Sep 20, 2005 3:42AM PDT

Hi There I was wondering if any of you chaps can help me. I am running Abit motherboard with a AMD 1700xp processor and 512mb of RAM and windows XP Pro SP2 and all updates.Recently I cannot access the internet from my user account I am loged in with administrators rights. when I click on IE a Error rectangle comes up with the top blue bar saying Microsoft Viaual C++ Runtime Library
and under that Runtime Error! and under that, Program C:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe
and under that, This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way
and under that is the OK button which I click and it stops IE from starting. When I switch users to my daughters account I can connect to the internet without problems.??? I have done SFC/scannow but to no avail. Will I have to reinstall IE or is it something else. I cannot understand why my daughter can get on line using IE on her account. Surely she will be using the same IE as me?? or not?? any help will be very much apreciated.
Kindest Regards Tony B.
