Don't create clutter by creating new discussions. When you start a new post, it's for a new topic.

Your topic has not changed and you didn't tell the end result of using K3b with 1/2 the files, etc.

Also, you may have to take OWNERSHIP of the files on the new XP system.

"For Microsoft Windows XP Professional, you need to disable Simple File Sharing, in order to see the Security tab. To disable simple file sharing, follow these steps: Click Start, and then click My Computer. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the View tab. In the Advanced Settings section, clear the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) check box. Click OK."

BUT THERE IS NO ADVANCED SETTINGS SECTION UNDER THE VIEW TAB??

I can't duplicate web content due to forum policy.

You may be flustered and not reading the article.

The very next line reads.

"To take ownership of a folder, follow these steps:"

You need to try harder. That section you copied from, may not apply.
