Question

Canon ZR950 Extended Battery HELP!

I am now in desperate need of a replacement battery for my Canon ZR950 video camera by next Sunday! There are approximately 350 choices on Amazon.com by as many makers. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_pg_1?rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3ACanon+ZR950+camera+battery&keywords=Canon+ZR950+camera+battery&ie=UTF8&qid=1347137642 How do I know which will give me extended recording time as opposed to the miniscule amount on the battery which came with the camera? How do I know which are by reputable manufacturers? I bought one by Lenmar which fell apart in less than two years so am not inclined to go for that brand again. Thanks.

Answer
The Canon

BP2L-14 should be just fine according to the Canon ZR950 Supplies and Accessories site

I have NEVER had a problems with optional camcorder batteries when I buy the optional batteries made by the camcorder manufacturer... They do cost a little more, but the lack of headaches seems to be the value.

The BP-2L14 is also listed in the camcorder manual

Since we don't know where you are, we don't know if there are any stores in the area that might carry them - or whether you need to pay for expedited shipping if purchased online... ($34 at amazon.com)

The only others I might trust are "Pearstone" branded from bhphotovideo.com

Thanks for Answering!

And thanks for confirming I made the right decision. Someone else recommended the Pearstone from BHphotovideo so that's what I got. I am leery of all the $5 - $15 specials on Amazon!
