Canon ZR65MC..It only records sound no picture

I need a little help?
I have a Canon ZR65MK. I just dragged it out to set it up for Christmas and am in trouble. The camera will not record. You see only black when looking through the view finder. It works when I but old tapes and replay but will only record sound. I was hoping maybe I had hit a button but after many and I mean many hours I decided to seek out help?HELP!!! Tech support is closed for the Holiday. Any Ideas?

It has less than 20 hours on it and yes the lens cap is off but it acts like its still on.

Did you every get an answer to why you cannot see a picture on you Canon ZR65MC? I am having the same problems!

I am also having the same problem. I records the sound but there's no picture on viewfinder and on the recorded.

Did you ever get any help at all? Could you help me too?
