Canon vixia HG20: How do I activate red eye reduction?

We purchased the HG20 in December and we're generally pleased. However, the still exposures are riddled with red eye. I know that the scope of this camera is not necessarily for stills, and I have red eye software for editing. However, does anyone know if there is logical setting in the HG20 model to reduce red eye? We've tried quite a bit without luck.
