IMO the Panasonic is a great camera (I have the HCC-V700) My camera does not have a viewfinder (which my older Canon HV20 has) but I do not miss it. You get used to the screen and IMO it is easier to use. I made a hood in black plastic which I can fit over the screen when it is sunny but I rarely use it. On the Panasonic the brightness of the screen can be increased to compensate for extra light.
I am considering buying the Canon VIXIA HFS100. I found a used one for $400. I like the features and picture quality.
But I really don't like that it doesn't have a viewfinder.
I also saw there is a Panasonic HC-X920 that does have a viewfinder for $750. I don't mind the extra money.
2 key questions:
Would you think the extra money for the eyepiece viewfinder to be worth it?
Is the picture quality of the Panasonic going to be as good as the Canon?
Thanks for the help!
