Canon Vixia HF20 HD cannot be read by computer.

by phischer / June 21, 2010 2:32 PM PDT

So I have this camcorder and it has worked beautifully several times and I've recently tried to reconnect it to my computer and either the software (ImageMixer 3) will not pick it up or my computer will not pick it up.

-It is plugged in with the provided USB cable.
-It is plugged into a power source.
-I've had the software open while it is plugged in.

Any help would be great, I'm growing impatient and frustrated with the camera.

Thank you Grin

I have had the same issue. First, I used IMovie and worked fine. Used the card in a Nikon still camera then after would not read. I went in and deleted all the Nikon files and now at least I can force it to download the files. Still searching but hope it helps. I'll let you know when I get closer and if!

I failed to initialize the SD card when I first got it so went back and initialized the card and works great now. page 43 in manual.
