Question

Canon Vixia HF M50 and which Blu-Ray Burner?

Sep 15, 2013 3:43AM PDT

Supposedly this camcorder, Canon Vixia FH M50, will work directly with a blu-ray burner. But, which one(s)?
The one I bought for my iMAC works with FCPX, not the camera.
The Canon one is not a blu-ray burner but a high density DVD burner. My MAC does that, too.
I want to burn blu-ray disks directly from the camera and perhaps directly from the SD card instead.
Does anybody already do that?
Thanks.

Blue Ray discs as storage for the video data files (.MTS) from the camcorder or to be able to playback the video files (.m2ts) on a Blue Ray player connected to a HDTV?

Usually a budget buster.

https://www.google.com/search?q=JVC+SR-HD1250US is such a model but at that price I could get some nice MacAir and BD burner.

BD recording is quite complex compared to DVD. I suggest you see if you can use some portable HDD to shuttle off content in the field.
