Question

Canon T3i or 60D...

Dec 7, 2011 9:58AM PST

I have a Nikon 8700 and want to upgrade. Been looking at the T3i and the 60D. Can someone shed some light on which would put me several steps ahead and the pros and cons of the T3i and 60D and if any of you have either camera, could you share your thoughts? Thanks!

Thank you! So which one would be best for sunset photography, outdoor and some sports. And when you say controls, which controls and how would the 60D be better then the T3i in the aspect of controls. How is the auto focus system different in the 2?

The more expensive one, of course!

The 60D has more external controls for direct access to commonly used settings, and two control wheels to adjust those settings. The extra controls won't make a difference if you only shoot in full auto mode, but when you start being creative, it is much faster and easier to use than having to dive into the menus to change settings.

The 60D has nine all cross-type AF sensors, which is faster and more accurate than the single cross-type and eight line sensors setup in the T3i. The 60D AF system is thus much better for sports than the T3i.
