Question

Canon SX260 v/s Nikon S9500 ?

Oct 3, 2013 7:34PM PDT

Hi Guys,

I am looking out for a Digital Camera mainly for personal use like use it to shoot vacation pictures, outdoors, Functions etc...So I am not looking out for a really professional level camera but having said in a personal camera category aswell I am looking out for a camera which has a excellent Picture quality, which has a good sensor and a reasonable zoom like 20X or something and the other standard features that come along a personal camera. So far I have shortlisted Canon Powershot SX260HS and Nikon Coolpix S9500 out of these two which will be a better choice any suggestions please ?

Here is one comparison - based on specifications

They rate them a tie.

But for quality of image you have to compare photographs.
The Nikon has a 18MP sensor which means they are using noise reduction firmware in the camera.
That will reduce detail.
The Canon has a 12MP sensor which means more detail and clearer pictures.

For 4 x 6 inch pictures I would say it is a tie.
For Larger pictures I would say Canon has the advantage.
