If you have exhausted your efforts with Canon, you should leave them with one parting shot.
File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
Canon will have to respond with some type of offer to clear the complaint.
The response may or may not be what you want, but give it a try.
HI! Bought the Poweshot A540 in Oct 2006. Ever since, I have had low battery charge issues with this camera. No matter what kind of batteries I use, they dont seem to hold charge. Canon has acknowledged this issue on their website too. Sent the camera in last year and got it fixed for no charge. Got a pathetic 3 month warranty on that repair. Of course, the camera has gone bad again with the same issue and now Canon wants $87 to fix something which is a manufacturing defect in the first place. Or I can upgrade to a refurbished A560 for $90. Why do I have to pay for repairs or buying a refurbished camera when Canon sold me a "lemon" to begin with? I certainly did not expect this kind of treatment from a brand like Canon.... Will not go near a Canon anytime soon. Do you think that this matter is worth pursuing with Canon or just go and buy something else for $150?? Sorry for the rant; just messed up my morning.
