Canon Pro2

If you check some Canon forums, there are many questions such as yours.

No one seems to have even a good rumor.
On those forums, there are more people guessing no than yes.

Now that you can find Rebel 300D cameras (with lens) for the same price as a Pro1, it makes one question the wisdom of producing a Pro2.

If someone produces a 11 megapixel sensor; that could change the picture (pun intended).

Soon, the price of Canon DSLR will drop as low as that of Canon Powershot Pro 1. Consider DSLR cameras comes with the bigger sensor, lighter weight & cheaper sales price, interchangable lenses, and lower noise; the camera like Powershot Pro 1 category may not be a big sell for those serious photographers. Perhaps, soon Canon Powershot Pro 1 product may get obsolete in the market, no offense. Just my personal assumption.

Yes, there are some rumors

that canon will bring up a new pro2, because recently the price of pro1 is decreasing in Japan also. Now it is approx. 85000 JPY (=850 USD), and Canon has begun a cash-back service of 10000 JPY.

I purchased Pro1 2 months ago, and using it very comfortably. The problem of Pro1 is the weakness in macrophotography and electric zooming. If you admit these two weakness, you should but one. The picture itself is sharp and good. I like it. I think Pro2 will be improved to fast responsive zooming and attachment for macrophotography.
